Structural Elastomeric Bearing Pads Rubber Bridge Bearing for Structures

AVIDA elastomeric bearings act as elastic load-transferring connections between structural elements which must be able to move or rotate relative to each other. They can be designed to transmit vertical and horizontal forces from the superstructure to the substructure, without constraints. They also accommodate rotations about any axis and-where appropriate-movements of the superstructure.


AVIDA elastomeric bearings are made from high-quality elastomer with or without reinforced steel plates. The elastomer and steel plate are chemically bonded in a vulcanization process, forming a shear and pressure resistant connection. The steel reinforcing plates resist any arising tensile forces, and are fully enclosed in elastomer and thus permanently protected from corrosion.

AVIDA elastomeric bearings are designed and manufactured in accordance with customer requirements and international standards such as EN 1337, AASHTO, BS 5400, AS 5100 or DIN 4141.

Our Certifications

Avida elastomeric bearings are designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the new European standard EN 1337-3 and have the qualification of the CE mark. Avida can also supply elastomeric bearings complying with other standards. The elastomer used in the moulding process can be polychloroprene (neoprene), natural rubber or SBR depending on the specifications requested. Every single steel component is mechanically worked and assembled by fully qualified and trained workers at the factory with regular external inspections according to EN 1337 and under strict ISO 9001:2008 quality control standards.
